Chalice Well, Glastonbury, Somerset

Glastonbury is famous for its spiritual vibes and the Chalice Well, nestled between the Tor and Chalice Hill is one of the town’s most visited places. The waters that flow in this ancient holy well are said to represent the blood of Christ, springing from the ground where Joseph of Arimathea buried or washed the cup used at the Last Supper; others see it as a gift from Mother Earth to sustain living forms, the sacred water being the essence of life. Many people believe that the well has healing powers and they say that coming here and drinking the chalybeate waters helps them to find inner peace. Whatever you think, there is no denying that this is an incredibly tranquil place to be; the gardens are beautiful and the atmosphere is serene. Maybe you should try it.
