10/10 - The layout and space in the house is exceptional. Everything we needed to cater for 15 was supplied. The dining table is fantastic. 2 dishwashers were a godsend. The pool room was well used and definitely enjoyed and the library was well stocked. The icing on the cake was definitely the swimming pool. Clean and warm and enjoyed by the whole family daily. The garden and grounds are very well kept. View amazing. Owner Kay next door was superb and very friendly and welcoming and dealt with an issue we had on arrival immediately. - Laker - April 24
09/10 - The house is lovely and spotlessly clean only thing we thought was in need of an update was the hall and stairs carpet. The pool was really lovely and warm. The kitchen was exceptionally stocked with plenty of crockery and pots pans utensils Great utility room! Great pool table room! The grounds of the house are well-kept and very pretty. 10/10 - The house had everything we needed from the indoor swimming pool to the game room that's the reason we didn't go out much there was loads of room for 16 of us the kids enjoyed the park and the pool, would stop here again couldn't fault Kay the owner she was very welcoming and lovely she sorted out a few things we needed sorted. 8/10 - We thought Viney Hill was a fabulous location and cottage for a large group, particularly those with families. We were a group of older Hens and had a fabulous time, we loved the swimming pool and games room but our favourite part was standing around the island in the kitchen drinking tea and chatting. The kitchen and dining room are super sociable and we felt they were the heart of the house. - Alleway

We can recommend days out to Steam train through Forest of Dean, Pedalbikeaway. Great for family with all types of bikes, trailers etc and Go Ape. - Clarke

10/10 - This house is perfect for big groups. We had 16 of us and was the best holiday we have had. The house has everything you need - as well as a beautiful outside area which kept the kids amused. The pool was enjoyed very much and was a good size. 12 of us were in the water at the same time and were not crowded. We would have liked the towel rails in the en-suites to have been hot as we had wet bath and swimming towels to dry. - Willis

The warm swimming pool and trampoline were particularly enjoyed by the children. The pool table was put to good use in the evenings by the adults. The table football was enjoyed by everyone. Lots to do for all the family right in the middle of the forest - Go Ape, Gruffalo Trail and Sculpture Trail, cycling . Plenty of parking and an excellent cafe. - Bryant

8/10 - The pool was excellent, good warm temperature, was used most of our stay, shame it’s daylight hours only, lovely house and very well equipped, our main concern was no stair gate, so we were constantly trying to find the children. Batteries had ran out in tv remotes and Bose so we couldn’t use the Bose. Leak in roof of bedroom 7 on the last night, had to move children to a different room, owners were informed of this in the morning. We still had a lovely week Thankyou. - Doherty

10/10 - My wife and I shared our "130th Birthday Celebrations (60 and 70 years)" at Viney Hill, Lydney, Gloucestershire. We celebrated along with our five children, their partners and our grandchildren for a long weekend. Great location and a beautiful large house with lots of space. There is a room for Pool which was well used by the adults and also Table Football. An indoor swimming pool, well used by everyone, lovely walks, and everything you require. House well stocked with everything you need to cater for large numbers. Could not have chosen a better location. The owner, Kay lives close by and is so very helpful but not intrusive. 10/10 - Viney Hill is an amazing house.. we were a mixed group of couples and children and staying in all weekend as the weather was poor.. there was room for everyone to have their own time, kids played whilst adults cooked and enjoyed the odd drink.. the Pool was great, rooms were all very spacious. All in all a perfect weekend retreat and we will be returning next year for sure - thanks Kay. - Lester

10/10 - We were made to feel welcome and had no issues during the week. It was ideal for our extended family group with separate wings upstairs. Well equipped kitchen and we cooked most nights. Having someone at the lodge was very useful and Kay was most helpful. The pool was excellent and at a good temperature for the little ones. Improvements; we took our own stair gates for the toddlers and they were very useful, we also bought some pool toys. All in all an excellent place to stay as a large group and would highly recommend. If you like walking - Symonds Yat. Our 3 year old grand daughter loved butterflies. Forestry commission walks near go ape free and fun. - Seal
9/10 - We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool and the outside area. One suggestion is to maybe supply a fan for the top two bedrooms as they were very hot at night. We can recommend canoeing along the River Wye. - Price
10/10 - The Viney Hill Country House was amazing. I had my hen weekend here and it was so well equipped and so much space for a large group! A great venue in beautiful countryside! We went Paddle Boarding on the River Wye and it was fantastic! Helped that we had amazing weather, but the river was so beautiful, highly recommend! - Mumford
