Holiday House for 10 With Outdoor Pool and Hot Tub

Finding a holiday house for 10 is easy enough but finding a holiday house with plenty to keep you all entertained can be quite a chore – until now. We have this gem in the Devon countryside – Foxhill Lodge, and it’s perfect in every way, it ticks all the boxes. This gorgeous holiday home sleeps 10 and has a hot tub, BBQ lodge, outdoor table tennis and use of an outdoor pool.

Foxhill Lodge was once just a barn on a working farm in the glorious Blackdown Hills, but it’s been sympathetically transformed to provide adorable, fully-modern holiday accommodation for families, friends and corporate groups. It’s lovely. The setting alone will leave you lost for words, tucked away amidst the lush green fields and gentle rolling slopes, with views that go on and on for miles; a wide open landscape, a huge horizon. The sunsets are amazing, and on a clear night the multitude of stars will take your breath away.

The minute you step inside Foxhill Lodge you’ll understand why we say it’s a home from home; it’s been professionally designed and those designers, well, they certainly know what they’re doing because straightaway you feel so welcome, you just know you’re going to have a wonderful holiday whether it’s for a whole week or just a short break.

The house is so fresh, and light and airy - and so stylish! The spacious hallway leads off to what might be considered your dream kitchen, a lovely big space with a well co-ordinated colour scheme, and though it’s contemporary in style, it’s got a bit of a country feel about it; it really, really works. And it’s so sociable! There’s a big central island in the kitchen so whoever’s doing the cooking needn’t feel left out; just pour a glass of wine and perch on the stools and natter away. There’s plenty of room for meal times here, no matter what your set up; maybe you’re a couple of families with young children, or a family of three generations. Whatever, you can all sit round the chunky dining table and tuck into big cooked breakfasts, mouthwatering roasts, and when you’ve had your fill, sit on the sofa and let your belly go down. Off the kitchen there’s a utility room and cloak room, and a door out to the yard; perfect for when you’ve been for a good stomp around the lanes and come back with wet coats and muddy boots.

Next to the kitchen is Bedroom 5 and further along, Bedroom 1, with an en suite shower room; all the bedrooms at Foxhill Lodge have a TV, and the décor is all restful, neutral tones conducive to a good night’s sleep, along with the fresh country air. The beds are all zip and links, so you can have them arranged as superkings or twins, it’s entirely up to you

Just wait till you get upstairs though; this is where the sitting room is, to take advantage of those far reaching views, and what a lovely room! So pretty! Doors open onto a glassed balcony with garden furniture, and steps lead down to the landscaped gardens. Once you get out there when the sun is shining, you won’t want to go anywhere else, it’s bliss! Also upstairs are three more bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room and two sharing a lovely contemporary bathroom.

The gardens are wonderful, with gravelled paths, carefully considered planting, and the steady trickle of a fountain, all with the backdrop of those beautiful rolling hills. From early April to the end of September you can use the outdoor pool and no doubt there will be many a happy day spent taking your ease with a dip and a laze on the loungers. Make the most of the good weather, have lunch al fresco or in the breeze hut; the kids will be having a great time on the play equipment, and it’s easy to keep an eye on them. Even if the weather isn’t so good you don’t need to fret because you can all head for the cosiness of the BBQ lodge and snuggle up on fluffy reindeer hides, put the twinkly lights on, stay out there till it’s late, toasting marshmallows, swapping stories and telling jokes.

In the yard behind the house there’s a covered hot tub where you can sit back and relax in the bubbles; there’s outdoor ping-pong too – you see, plenty to keep you entertained no matter how young or old you are. Once you get here you’ll probably forget any thoughts you had of going out, but maybe you should explore the area a little, even if you just potter down to the Strand Stores in Culmstock to stock up on local goodies, or to the Culm Valley Inn for a hearty pub lunch after a stroll along the river or a climb to the top of Culm Beacon. You might need provisions from the supermarket and if you do, there are some very nice towns nearby; Wellington, Honiton and Taunton are all good for a browse. Tiverton isn’t far either and it’s nice to amble along the canal and have a cream tea in the Canal Tea Rooms and Gardens, or to take a lazy trip along the waters on a horse drawn barge and then have a bite to eat on board Duck’s Ditty Floating Café Bar. If you like historic houses go and pay a visit to Knightshayes Court (NT), and on the way home stop off at Sheppy’s Cider, go to the farm shop and if it’s springtime have a stroll through the apple orchards, they’ll be frothy with blossom, a wonderful sight! You might even fancy a day trip somewhere and if you do, you’re spoilt for choice round these parts; you could go over to Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast and spuddle in the rockpools, take a boat out mackerel fishing, play crazy golf, or visit the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum. Discover the heather-clad heaths of Exmoor, stroll along the river at Watersmeet, amble up the cliff to tiny Culbone Church, ride the Victorian Cliff Railway at Lynton and Lynmouth, and uncover the history of Dunster Castle. Take the kids to Crealy Adventure Park, spend the day in Exeter where you can visit the cathedral, meet Gerald the giraffe at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, or take a tour of the medieval Underground Passages beneath the city street. Honestly, there is so much to see and do round here!

So there you have it; if you’re planning a holiday for 10 of you, there’s no need to spend hours trawling the internet trying to find the perfect holiday house because by showing you Foxhill Lodge we’ve made it easy for you.
