Big Holiday Cottage in Devon With A Hot Tub – Sleeps 14

Well, what a beauty! We’ve been bursting to show you the latest addition to our ever increasing portfolio of large group holiday homes, and at last, here it is – Pippinsands, a gorgeous and very welcoming big holiday cottage in Devon with a hot tub and snooze space for 14. The location? In a word, wonderful – amidst the wide open fields and big skies of the Blackdown Hills, overlooking the Otter Valley, just a mile or so from Honiton. If you crave the kind of holiday that takes you far, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life, where you can completely relax and unwind, Pippinsands is for you.

In the not so distant past Pippinsands was a farmhouse so as you’d expect there’s heaps of character and quirky features. It’s the perfect rural retreat for all kinds of large group stays – family holidays, celebrations, reunions, and refined hen weekends. You’ll love it – 6 bedrooms sleep 14 people, there’s a spacious kitchen with a big walk in pantry, a dining room, snug, and long bright and airy drawing room. If you’ve got people in your party who like to have their own space the integral annexe will suit them perfectly as it has its own kitchen, sitting room, and en suite bedroom.

What’s more, Pippinsands is dog friendly, so the pet pooch can come and stay too. Grab the lead and step out from the doorstep into the fields and down along the river. Bring a ball and play fetch in the garden – there’s plenty of room for the young ‘uns to run around too; you can sit back in the hot tub and listen to the birds song or watch squirrels scampering on the lawns. Get up in the morning and go out pony trekking with Devenish Pitt Farm and come back for drop scones or toast made on the Aga. It’s the stuff of picture books, all slightly Enid Blyton, Anne of Green Gables, that kind of thing, though with all the modern conveniences you need for a happy large group holiday.

We have a sneaking suspicion that you’ll be so happy at Pippinsands you probably won’t feel the need to go out anywhere – but the kids might want to do something so take them to Wildwood Escot, the Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth, or go and have a bit of fun at Diggerland. Whip up some family competition on the track at Mansell Raceway, or for something different you could see the banger racing at Smeatharpe Stadium, or watch the planes come and go and parachutes landing at Dunkeswell Areodrome. Spend a day in Exeter visiting the cathedral and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, go to Clip n’ Climb or discover the medieval Underground Passages. Take a trip to the seaside, to Sidmouth, Beer, Branscombe or Lyme Regis on the Jurassic coast; go rockpooling, mackerel fishing, have fish and chips on the beach – all the things that memories are made of.

And you know, one of the upsides of having a large group holiday in the country is that you get to go to some wonderful country pubs, full of charm and rustic character; go and sample the local brew, have some hearty home cooked food, watch the sun go down from the beer garden – the Drewe Arms at Broadhembury, the Six Bells at Payhembury, and the Culm Valley Inn are all very good. Also well worth booking are The Pig at Combe, The Holt in Honiton and River Cottage in Axminster.

Like we said it’s a beauty, and that’s why we know that Pippinsands is going to be very popular for large groups looking for relaxing week long holidays, weekends away and midweek breaks. Don’t miss out on this gorgeous holiday cottage; make it a break to remember. Check availability and book today!
