Group Accommodation Sleeping up to 25 in France With A Pool

If you’re looking for the most perfect group accommodation in France with a pool, we’ve got good news for you. Very good news. You see, at Chateau La Chutelière the owners have been busy; they’ve given the old stables a big dose of TLC and now they have snooze space for up to 25 people – and we have a new property: Chateau La Chutelière and The Stables.

Think about it. What’s the perfect way to spend a large group holiday? Say for instance, that it’s your 40th birthday and you want to spend it tucked away from the world with your favourite people, or perhaps you’re getting together with a few of your best friends and all the kids for a summer holiday. How do you envisage that? How would it be?

Well, imagine a rambling old chateau sleeping 15 and right next door a beautifully converted stable block with room for 10 to bed down. A saltwater pool on the terrace, a games room, gym, cinema room, and wait for it… 23 acres of grounds all yours to explore, enjoy and make the most of. Can you imagine? The brilliant thing is that it’s all so tucked away, deep in the gorgeous countryside of the Poitou-Charentes region, abut 35 miles from Poitiers. You wouldn’t even know the chateau is there from the road, that’s how secluded it is. Expect peace and tranquility, fresh air, heavenly surroundings; honestly, this place is a dream.

Take a look at our photo gallery and you’ll see just how appealing Chateau La Chuteliere and The Stables are, but to see it all for real is something else. Exquisite interiors that combine 19th century country house style with French rustic charm and all the modern conveniences you could wish for; there’s a whopper of a cinema room on the top floor of the main house, a games room with table tennis, a pool table and table football, a well equipped gym, and on the terrace there’s a brilliant barbecue area so you can idle the hours away by the pool and dine alfresco. It doesn’t get much more perfect than this!

Those grounds! You can spend all day just wandering around loving it all! Sit on the bridge over the lavoir watching damselflies dart about, wander down along the river and look out for kingfishers or listen for the plop of a water vole slipping off for a swim. Have a picnic in the shade of the trees by the canal, play French cricket (of course!) on the lawns, do cartwheels and handstands, play hide and seek in the poplar grove at the back of the house, pick fruit from the orchard and terraces. Just while away the days together in absolute perfect bliss.

You might think, well. we’ve come this far, we ought to see a bit of the local area, and yeah, we get that. So go and explore. Start by wandering down to the village for freshly baked bread, or go and have a mooch around Parthenay, the nearest town, ancient, fortified, on the banks of the River Thouet. Poitiers is good, with cosy shops to browse, cafes and bars, and the beautiful Romansque church of Notre Dame Le Grande – amazing when they do illuminated light shows on summer evenings.

You can have some fantastic family days out in this part of France, the kind of thing the kids will get very excited about, like Monkey Valley at Romagne, Futuroscope Science Park, the Falconry and Wildlife Park at Chauvigny, and the incredible Puy du Fou Historical Theme Park near Cholet. Head over to La Rochelle on the Atlantic Coast where you can visit the Aquarium or take a boat trip to Ile de Re to see the Lighthouse of the Whales. There are several gorgeous castles around too – Angers, Roche Courbon and Rochefoucauald; the Underground Church at Aubterre-sur-Dronne and the Roman Amphitheatre at Saintes are also well worth a visit, and a day on the Marais-Poitevin (France’s ‘Green Venice’) exploring the waterways in a traditional flat bottomed barque is a must.

A week or two at Chateau La Chuteliere and The Stables is like the ideal holiday, all gift wrapped in a great big box. It’s just so amazing for a big family get together, for a reunion of friends, and for corporate stays or hospitality; to boot, dogs are allowed by prior arrangement AND the lovely owners live on site and can offer babysitting services and professional catering. What a way to celebrate that significant occasion! Give yourselves a holiday to remember – book your stay today!
