Catcott Complex Nature Reserves, The Somerset Levels

Glastonbury Tor provides an amazing backdrop to this nature reserve in the heart of the Somerset Levels. From November to March the Catcott Lows is a Mecca to birdwatchers; in summer great crested newts and dragonflies can be found at Catcott Heath, happily going about their business amidst the rich grasslands and flower meadows. Walk along an old drover's track to the Great Fen where there's a big bird hide, accessible to wheelchair users.

The reserve is a mile north of the village of Catcott; there's a small car park and you can take your dog but it must be kept on a lead.
