They have bikes for kids of all ages, tag-a-longs and trailers, and what’s really good fun, tandem bikes and kick bikes. Hire for half a day or a whole day, pick your route and off you go; the staff at Exmouth Cycle Hire are very knowledgeable and can advise on places to go, but one of the best has to be the Exe Estuary Trail; it’s fairly flat and covers spectacular scenery along the river. Go to Topsham and stop off for lunch or cream tea at The Lighter Inn, or carry on to Exeter and stop for refreshments on the quayside.
The main shop is in the town centre but they also have a beach hut where you can hire by the hour for a leisure pedal along the seafront. Helmets and locks are included in the price, child seats and trailers are add-ons.
