Introduction
Ham Bottom is a timber framed holiday lodge offering spacious and luxurious accommodation to groups of up to 14 people. There's an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, games room and children's play equipment.
Pre Arrival:
Groceries: These can be delivered by Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Sainsburys or COOK by pre-ordering on-line.
Getting Here:
Road: You'll find detailed directions in your Check In information which can be viewed after you have made a booking.
Buses: The nearest bus station is at Taunton – 10 miles distant. Buses run from Taunton to Wellington, which is the nearest town to Ham Bottom and is just 4 miles away. Taxis are readily available from Taunton and from the centre of Wellington.
Trains: Taunton station and Tiverton Parkway are both 10 miles away. Taxis are usually available from both stations. .
Arrival and Car Parking:
From the road there is a 1/2 mile gravel drive leading to a large parking and turning area. It is possible to get a vehicle right up to the ramp by the front door.
From the car park area to the front door there is a gentle paved ramp with a 1m square paved area before the front door.
Inside:
Ground Floor
There is a 5mm threshold through an 800mm doorway directly into the downstairs games room (13m x 7m). In the games room there's a large flat screen TV, DVD player, iPod dock, pool table, table football, two armchairs and a 5 seater sofa.
The ground floor has level stone flooring throughout.
Off the games room there are Bedrooms 1 and 2, both measuring 4m x 4.5m with 800mm doorways, and walk-in wet rooms accessed through an 800mm doorway. The wet room for Bedroom 1 measures 1.60m x 4.5m and the wet room for Bedroom 2 is 1.10m x 4.5m. Both en suites are fully tiled throughout, with toilets that are 420mm high.
NB: A shower chair can be provided for use in the en suite to Bedroom 1. You will need to request this on the Equipment section of My Booking. We can also provide a wheelchair ramp for access out onto the patio - again, you will need to request this in advance.
Two sets of French doors measuring 1.6m wide with a 200mm step lead from the games room out to the patio.
From the games room through to the kitchen/dining room is open plan. The kitchen has a central island with at least 1.6m of space around it; there is an inset induction hob, 2 fan assisted ovens, 2 microwave/combi ovens, a fridge/freezer, 2 dishwashers, 2 sinks and lots of storage. There is a bar area with a drinks fridge and commercial icemaker, and a large table (800mm high) and chairs to comfortably seat 14 people. The dining area has a large table (800mm high) and chairs to comfortably seat 14 people.
Two pairs of bifold doors open off the kitchen onto the patio over a 200mm step.
Off the kitchen via an 800mm doorway is a hallway giving access to the car parking area over a 200mm step. You can also access the laundry room from this hallway, again through an 800mm doorway. The laundry room has a WC, washer dryer and ironing facilities.
At the end of the hall is the pool room, through a doorway 800mm wide. The pool measures 10m x 5m and has a constant dept of 1.20m. There is ample room around the pool for people to sit, with a few loungers provided. There are steps at one corner of the pool to aid access into the pool; these are 200mm deep and have a handrail. The sauna is to one end the pool hall, through a heat repellent glass door of 700mm. Along one side of the pool room there are bifold doors and a separate door 800mm wide - all open onto level decking outside. There is a 200mm step down from the large decked area to the patio. On the patio is the sunken hot tub, which has capacity for 10 people and is covered by a wheeled dome, which is easy to manoeuvre and retract.
First Floor
From the games room there is an oak staircase with open treads of 200mm risers, and 7 steps to a half landing, followed by a turn and a further 7 steps to the first floor living room. The staircase is 800mm wide with a double handrail on the first 7 steps and a wall with single handrail on the second flight.
The living room measures 6m x 9m and has a wall mounted flat screen TV, and 3 large sofas to seat 12 people. There is ambient wall lighting and side tables with lamps.
The first floor has level oak flooring throughout.
Off the living room are Bedrooms 3-6, all measuring 4m x 4.5m. Bedrooms 4 and 6 have walk-in wet rooms and Bedrooms 3 and 5 have bathrooms that have a bath as well as a walk-in wet area.
All bath/shower rooms at Ham Bottom are fully tiled, with 420mm high toilets and 900mm high sinks. There are low level shower attachments as well as high level, and the baths are 600mm high.
Outside
Outside there are large lawns with children’s climbing equipment and a large netted trampoline, as well as a big patio area with garden furniture for 12 people, and a gas barbecue. From the patio a very short gravelled path leads to the BBQ lodge which measures 4.4m x 4.8m and has a door width of 900mm and a 200mm step into the lodge. Inside there is fixed seating around the edge of the lodge and a fire pit/bbq with a chimney in the centre; the area between the seating and the BBQ is no smaller than 900mm.
