Haydays - Accommodation
Haydays is a large group holiday house that sleeps 14 people and brings you modern luxury in the spectacular Devon countryside. The house is just a few minutes’ drive from the M5 and is reached via a private road with secure gated access. Park up, have a stretch, then go on in to a porch that leads straight through to a spacious hallway; there's underfloor heating throughout so no need to worry about bringing your woollies in the winter, and what's more, it's all eco-friendly, run off a ground source heat pump.
To the left of the hall is the kitchen, well laid out for easy cooking and socialising so no-one misses out on the fun; the table makes the room a good quiet space for those who like to slip down for an early breakfast - or for a cheeky midnight feast! It's very well equipped with all you need to create a scrumptious celebration dinner, but if that sounds like too much hard work just book one of our tried and tested professional caterers (see Extras) to come in and cook for you - what a treat!
Off the kitchen is a big utility room where you'll find an extra fridge/freezer, a washing machine and dryer and an extra dishwasher. Step down from the kitchen to the dining room/orangery, a long and light filled room with a glass roof and huge bifold doors that you can open wide to bring the sunshine in; there's a chunky dining table to seat you all, and off to the right is the games room where there's a full size pool table, a 50” TV and comfy seating.
Next to the games room, a lobby leads through to the pool hall, accessed via a secure door. Left off the lobby there are changing rooms, to the right there’s a shower room; the heated pool takes pride of place with room for loungers to one side. At the end of the hall is the hot tub and French doors that open onto a sheltered patio where there’s table tennis for outdoor or indoor use.
Back in the main hall, straight ahead are the stairs and to the right is Bedroom 5, where there's snooze space for 5 so it makes a great room for a family with young children. The bedrooms at Haydays all have zip and link beds that can be arranged as super kings or twins; all rooms except Bedroom 5 have TVs and plenty of wardrobe space - great for those who don't travel light! Also right of the hall is the sitting room, with doors opening onto the patio, inviting sofas to curl up on, a huge TV, and doors through to the dining room.
Upstairs are Bedrooms 1-4; Bedroom 1 has an ensuite shower room, and its own balcony. Bedroom 2 sleeps 3 and has an ensuite shower room, Bedrooms 3 and 4 sleep 2 and have shared use of the family bathroom which has a bath and a separate shower; right next to there’s a separate WC.
The large garden backs onto open fields and has plenty of space for the little ones to run about and let off steam; there’s a play area for them with a climbing fort, a slide and a trampoline, so they’ll be shrieking with delight. Fire up the bbq, make the table look pretty and enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner alfresco; if the weather isn’t great, head to the cosiness of the Nordic style BBQ lodge.
