Hideout, Taunton Somerset
Just off the main shopping street in the Somerset county town of Taunton, Hideout has quite a buzz, and no wonder - not just a convenient location on a wide quiet square at the back of the creeper clad Castle Hotel, but also eclectic trendy interiors that blend, well, a bit of everything - it's snazzy, it's urban, a touch rustic and there's a hint of opulence, but hey, it works. Tuck yourselves away in a cosy little nook, sit in front of the huge windows in the open bar, or even Parisian style, out on the pavement.
The food seems to go down well, not surprisingly; it's all very fashionable - corned beef hash, fajitas, Halloumi burger, steak & salad. If you're out on the town pop in for cocktails and mocktails.
Right opposite is the Museum of Somerset, well worth a look for the beautiful Roman mosaic alone.
