Hudson’s Steakhouse, Bath, Somerset

Once a notorious Victorian boozer, now THE place to go in Bath for steaks, especially prime dry aged ones. And they’re good because they’ve won awards, so if you’re more inclined towards the carnivorous you should go there. Downstairs is cocktails, upstairs is the grill room with an open kitchen, original Victorian fireplaces and a nice outlook over the park.
Down to the nitty gritty; there are some very tempting classic dishes on the menu, like seared salmon, Spiced sweetcorn fritters, and Roasted chicken breast, so even vegetarians are catered for, but the steaks. Oh goodness, the steaks! They’re all hand picked by the local butcher and aged for 35 days and what a choice! Flat iron top blade, Rib eye with super marbling, centre cut sirloin, and prime fillet of 6, 8 or 10oz. It ain’t cheap but it’s very, very good, and you know what they say – you get what you pay for.
