Ramscombe Great Wood, The Quantocks, Somerset
Deep in Great Wood on the Quantock Hills is an area known as Ramscombe; it's rather popular because it's so pretty and it's a good place to start off for a bike ride, a good hike or a pony trek. There's a picnic field with barbecues and benches, with some designed specifically for wheelchair use; from here you can set off on the well surfaced 2 mile Red Walk Trail which takes you through mixed woodland with shallow streams you can have a paddle in, maybe find some caddis fly larvae in their little cases.
There are car parks (charges apply) and loos on site.
