People of all ages love coming to Roche Courbon Castle, so you should definitely bookmark it for a family day out when you’re staying at Chateau La Chutelière. The formal gardens are divine and we don’t blame you if you want to dally and just enjoy the air of refinement. The young ‘uns will be hurrying you along though because they’ll want to have a go at some of the ancient wooden games here, things they played at the Royal Court, like Indian spinning tops, Japanese billiards, trac and hangman. There are quizzes, animations and events – oh, there’s always something going on, like Medieval Fetes, workshops, a Halloween show and a Christmas Market. There’s a restaurant and picnic area, and a little gift shop
