The Bird in Hand, North Curry, Somerset
You can't miss the Bird in Hand, right in the middle of North Curry. Push open the heavy oak door and walk in to find worn flagstones, low ceilings, centuries old beams and open fireplaces. The ambience is undeniably friendly, with locals and visitors chatting together; staff are attentive and the food is delicious. There's something for everyone, but they specialise in fish and seafood. Walk from the village along the River Tone to Curload and then back here for a bite to eat. Bring the dog - he's perfectly welcome too.
Opening times vary throughout the week but generally 12-3pm and 6-11.30pm you'll find the pub open.
