The King Alfred Inn, Burrowbridge, Somerset
Cosy and casual, the King Alfred Inn is nestled in the shadow of Burrow Mump in Burrowbridge on the enchanting Somerset Levels. This is a good old fashioned pub with a wonderful rustic ambience, a range of local ales and ciders, and menus of tasty homemade pub classics made using the freshest, locally sourced produce. On the Levels Lunch menu are things like Loin of pork in a creamy apple sauce with bubble & squeak, Crispy beef with sweet chilli & coriander noodles, and cauliflower & broccoli cheese bake with crusty bread and salad; from the main menu are Smoked salmon tagliatelle in a cream & herb sauce, Hunters chicken, and Pynes aged rump steak. Oh, and the puddings!
Have a good walk along the River Tone before you come here so that you work up a hearty appetite. In true country in style, your four legged friends are most welcome at the King Alfred.
