Triscombe Stone, the Quantocks, Somerset
A 2 ft high Bronze Age standing stone on the Quantocks, amidst gorgeous scenery of rolling hills and a patchwork of fields interspersed with woodland and dotted with unspoilt villages. Walk up to it from Triscombe Stone car park; legend has it that if you sit on the stone and make a wish, it will come true. Try it for yourself before heading to the Blue Ball Inn for a pint and a bite to eat.
