What a transformation! From 16th, 17th and 18th century barns to luxurious self catering holiday accommodation sleeping 30 people! Beaverbrook 30 comprises two converted barns on either side of a pretty cobbled courtyard tucked away amidst the glorious countryside of South Somerset. It's jaw-dropping, it's spacious and it's stylish, and it's got all the conveniences you need for happy and sociable large group holidays or celebrations - individual temperature control in each room, colour changing lights in the jacuzzi, a home cinema; all mod cons! Pull up into the courtyard and unload, then park in the huge car park and follow the path (lit at night) to the barns.
The main building is the Old Granary Barn and honestly, it's huge! A spacious hall/lobby takes you through to the open-plan living space; natural light floods in through the floor to ceiling windows. This is the perfect entertaining space and it's so stylish - on-trend furnishings, wood flooring, animal hide rugs and well chosen accessories give a wonderful homely ambience. There's a stunning Shaker style kitchen to one end, equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a 6 oven range and 3 dishwashers, plus there's breakfast bar seating so whoever's doing the cooking doesn't need to be left out of the chit-chat. And wow, right in the middle of the room is a long, chunky dining table, so pile it with food, sit round and tuck in - there's room for 30 easily! Why not have a look on our Extras page and choose one of our tried and tested professional caterers to come in and cook up a lavish feast for you; they do the work, you all relax - easy!
Just off the kitchen is a spacious utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a WC. At the other end of this huge living space is a snug area with plush and comfy sofas and a big TV - plenty of room for your whole party to congregate together and enjoy a fantastic holiday!
Off the living area is access friendly Bedroom 1, terrific for families or for older children. It sleeps 5 people (1 on a sofa bed) and there's a generously sized wet room with a free standing bath. This room has a such a peaceful air about it, and a lovely outlook over the lane where you can see the little parish church; French doors lead out to the central courtyard. Also off the living space is Bedroom 2, sleeping 3 people, with its own ensuite bathroom with a shower and again, a free standing bath.
A corridor leads from the kitchen to Bedrooms 3 and 4, both sleeping 2 in superking or twin beds, and both with en suite shower rooms. The calming neutral shades and well co-ordinated accessories all help to create a very restful ambience.
Upstairs there are 2 WC's off a spacious landing; note the old photographs of cows in the now converted Tie Stalls across the courtyard. To the left is a fabulous home cinema/living room, with high ceilings, oak beams and natural stone walls. There are floor to ceiling windows, commodious sofas, a Bluetooth music system, and a pull down screen and projector that can be used for watching movies or for showing photographs. The fireplace is quite a feature, made from Hamstone gateposts found on the farm, and an inset electric fire gives extra warmth and a focal point.
Opposite the living room is an amazing games room and it's got plenty to keep any bored teenagers happy! There's table tennis, table football, American air hockey and an 8ft US pool table, plus a 76" TV, DVD docking station, Bluetooth speakers for your music and ports to plug in games consoles. It's a great space for unwinding, with colourful seating and a kitchen area with a sink, a dishwasher, and a drinks fridge.
Just across the courtyard is the other barn, the Tie Stalls, which in its former life was a milking parlour. This has 6 ensuite bedrooms, each sleeping 3 guests; all of these rooms are light and airy with French doors that open on to the courtyard. Leave them open on a balmy summers night and let the cool breeze drift in whilst you sleep. The beds can be arranged as a superking and a single, or as three singles, and the ensuites have good sized showers. You can even set your own comfort levels at Beaverbook 30 as there is temperature controlled air conditioning in each room.
Just wait til you see the spa hall! It's accessed off the kitchen and for safety, has a self closing door with a safety bolt. Natural daylight pours in through full height windows; slide the doors back and you can step outside whenever you want to. The heated pool measures 10m x 5m and is an even 1.2m, with plenty of room around it for loungers. At the end of the hall there's a sumptuously bubbly 3m jacuzzi and an 8 person sauna - such indulgence! The walled garden is great for alfresco gatherings, with handcrafted rustic garden furniture and a BBQ; the children can run around and let off steam or have fun on the play train, and then you can all cosy up in reindeer hides beneath the twinkly lights in the Nordic style BBQ lodge.
