Babblebrook is an idyllic place to stay for your large group holidays in the UK. Tucked away in the Mid-Devon countryside, nature is all around you here; the wind whispers in the treetops, the Little Dart River trips along at the garden’s edge and the air is full of birdsong. This is where you can press pause and enjoy your stay, a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. With snooze space for 10 plus 2 extra guest beds for children aged 12 years and under at no additional charge, Babblebrook is a fantastic house for family holidays, peaceful celebrations, days away with friends, and dignified hen weekends.

These are dream days, so you probably won’t feel the need to go anywhere, but pack your walking boots because there are wonderful walks in this little corner of the world. Amble up to Buzzards Woodland (NT), just a stone’s throw away from Babblebrook; secluded and tranquil, the woods are an absolute picture in the springtime when bluebells carpet the floor. More seasoned hikers will enjoy a ramble to Bickleigh Mill for a cream tea in the garden.

If you’d like an afternoon out, start with lunch at The Cadeleigh Arms or The Fisherman’s Cot, on the banks of the River Exe at Bickleigh, then go on to Knightshayes (NT) to explore the Victorian house with its formal gardens and wider parkland. While away a few hours down at the Grand Western Canal in Tiverton; stroll along the towpath, take a leisurely ride on one of the last horse-drawn barges in the country. Look out for ducks dabbling, swans a-swimming and if you’re very lucky, the blue-green dart of a kingfisher. Hire Canadian canoes and take to the waterway, then go to the Duck’s Ditty floating canal-side bar for refreshments.

Adventurous sorts can release their inner Tarzan at Go Ape Haldon Forest, families will love Crealy Theme Park where there are over 60 rides and attractions, as well as animals to see. Get behind the wheel of some mighty earthmovers at Diggerland Devon, tackle the assault course at the Bear Trail near Cullompton.

Take a trip to Exmoor National Park, see beauty spots like Tarr Steps and Watersmeet; pootle about and discover the deep river valleys, vast woodlands, and heather topped heaths where wild ponies graze. Head to Exeter for a day in the city, visiting the glorious cathedral and exploring the Medieval Underground Passages; down at the quay there’s family fun to be had at Clip n Climb, or you can hire kayaks from Saddles and Paddles and wind your way up to The Turf for lunch by the waterside.

But like we said, you may not feel the need to go anywhere; you’ll be quite content to spend your whole stay at Babblebrook; relax in the hot tub, play lawn games and hide and seek. When evening comes gather round the firepit in the orchard as the stars come out one by one, then head indoors to Blanket Land to sleep and to dream. Life is so perfect here; book today!
