Art lovers won’t want to miss the exhibitions at Hauser & Wirth on the edge of Bruton, Harry Potter fans will like Lacock Abbey where they’ll recognise some of the scenes, like the cloisters at Hogwarts and the houses in the higgledy-piggledy village.
Bath is less than 30 minute’s drive; spend the day sightseeing with the Roman Baths, The Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey top of your list; if you’re feeling adventurous book up for paddleboarding on the River Avon in the city centre. A little further away you can climb on board SS Great Britain at the harbourside in Bristol, see the marine life at Bristol Aquarium and for a very different air, browse the independent shops and boutiques at Clifton Village.
Frome is good too, with a huge vintage scene and once a month there’s a very upbeat vibe when the Frome Independent market is on; a merry throng fills the streets to look around the stalls and tuck into street food from around the world. At Bradford on Avon you can stroll along the towpath of the Kennet & Avon canal, hire kayaks and take to the waters, or enjoy a relaxing ride on the Barbara McLellan Trip Boat, watching ducks dabbling.
Back at Tickety-Boo, wind down for the evening, relaxing together.
